Nikki Jacquin

I have been a commissioned portrait artist specializing in childhood and family settings full-time for the past 20 years. These works have been created in graphite, pencil, acrylic, acrylic mixed media, watercolour and oil. In the past 3 years I have been pleased to be a Guest Artist in Residence at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Sask. side and Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The Cypress Hills residency was made possible through a Creative Partnerships Grant between Sask Parks, SaskCulture, the Friends of Cypress Hills and was funded by the Sask Arts Board, and Sask Lotteries. I have been a certified instructor for Grumbacher Art for 4 years and have also instructed art classes for the Cathedral Art School and the Art Gallery of Regina as well as several local guilds. I was asked to present at CARFAC Sask’s symposium on “Commissions and Contracts” as one of four panelists in 2011. In June of 2015 I will be leading my 2nd group painting excursion to France which is sold out! In 2013/ 2014 I was pleased to be juried and accepted as part of the CARFAC Sask Mentorship Program working with Iris Hauser of Saskatoon as my mentor. The above work entitle, ” Creating Fearlessly, Cara Gay Driscoll SK Artist” copyright N.Jacquin; 3′ x 4′ oil was a part of a series called ” Blueprints” I began during my mentorship project. The project explores the role senior female artists in Sask play as role models for their younger counter parts and the challenges they face as well as the unique perspectives they can share from their experienced vantage point.
