The Philosopher Kings and More Recently Announced

Right now in the Exchange, we’re winding down 2016. There’s a full month of exciting shows going on all through December, with some new and returning events. Already, though, we’re looking forward to what we’ve got planned for 2017.

In the past week, we announced three new shows in our Exchange Presents concert series. First up is Julie and the Wrong Guys in the Club on February 1. Julie Doiron’s been touring and recording as a solo artist and as part of groups like Eric’s Trip for over 20 years. This latest group features members of Cancer Bats and Eamon McGrath.

Another group who have spent decades playing music in Canada is the Philosopher Kings in the Exchange on March 1. With hits like “Cry” and “Hurts to Love You”, the band’s made their mark blending soul, R&B, and pop to the delight of audiences across the nation.

A different kind of cultural flavor is coming with the Real McKenzies in the Exchange on March 22. The Canadian group led the way for Celtic punk when they formed in 1992 and haven’t stopped bringing bagpipes to the pit ever since.
