Things Screaming Females share with other great New Jersey bands include an encyclopedic understanding of decades of American pop music that they’re able to synthesize into a wholly singular, cohesive sound, and impossibly good guitar solos. Things they don’t share are, well, sounding like Screaming Females – knotty, riotously fun rock music tied together with Marissa Paternoster’s distinctive, gripping vocals. Their latest album, Rose Mountain, came out in 2015.
