Kenn McLeod is a director, educator, and performer with a passion for new play development, a proclivity for physical theatre, and a penchant for edgy and engaging theatrical events. Kenn received his BFA in Acting at the University of Regina and his MFA in Directing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As a physical theatre performer, puppeteer, clown, and acrobat, Kenn has trained with the North American Cultural Laboratory (New York), Vancouver Circus School (Vancouver), Dell Arte International School of Physical Theatre (California), the Manitoulin Center for Creation and Performance (Ontario), and most recently Old Trout Puppet Workshop (Alberta). He is the artistic director of both Hectik Theatre (Regina) and Souris Valley Theatre (Estevan), a dedicated theatre teacher, and very proud to be a Saskatchewan artist.
Taylor Hunt graduated from Etobicoke School of the Arts in 2009 with honours and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree specializing in Performance Dance from Ryerson University. She has trained internationally and worked with such artists as Nadia Potts, Evelyn Hart, Robert Glumbek, Lisa Davies, and Ami Shulman, among many others. Some of her most recent stage credits include Fresh Blood 2014, Dance Ontario Weekend, Lion’s Club International Conference, and Distant Exchange with Reactive Dance Theatre. Taylor co-choreographed her first full-length work called Fostering Words that was showcased in the New Voices Festival in April 2013. She is an instructor certified by the British Association of Teachers of Dance in the styles of jazz, tap, ballet, and Scottish step dance.
Erik Mehlsen is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and performer. He currently plays electric bass and guitar with the Latin-folk influenced Andino Suns. He also plays the guitar and banjo for the roots/blues band the Down Home Boys. He is a contributing songwriter in both bands. Asides from these groups, Erik is a for-hire sideman, having previously played in everything from punk-rock bands to jazz combos. His curiosity and love of all musical styles has led him down a path of wide musical influence. He seeks to create art with anyone with a desire to make sound. Currently, Erik is tidying up his first solo recording under the pseudonym Del Suelo, with hopes to tour the work in 2016.
Rowan Pantel is a visual artist, designer, and puppeteer. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Master of Fine Arts in Intermedia from the University of Regina. She works with a variety of media including printmaking, drawing, photography, installation, painting, film, and puppetry. She has held instructing positions at both the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan, and is currently the Festival Coordinator for the International Puppet Underground Film Festival Plus in Regina.
Danica Lorer has been a professional storyteller for more than 15 years. She collects and imagines stories and pictures throughout Saskatchewan and beyond. She lives in Saskatoon. As a freelance writer and photographer, her work has appeared in the Maidstone Mirror, the News Optimist, the Battlefords Regional Optimist, Pipeline News, Saskatchewan Business Magazine, and Engage Magazine. She has been shortlisted for Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association awards in the categories of Columnist of the Year, Best Habitat/Conservation Writing, Educational Coverage, and Best Culture Story.
